Adopt a Family 2023
Every year we Adopt a Family to help those in need in our community.
The Process:
Selecting families is not as difficult as everyone may think. In 2020, when a lot of families were in need during quarantine, we felt the desire to begin our journey of helping our community. We use Oakland County’s GSRP Program to help narrow down our selection. Each year we contact the Oxford School District to select most of our families in need. With an overwhelming amount of support from our clients, we have always met the needs of these families.
Our Families:
This year’s families are a mix of the Oxford community and the Rochester community. Two of our families are from Oxford and have qualified through the GSRP Program and were then selected by Dr. Marie based on their stories. Our other family is from the Rochester School District, Hart Middle School. In addition we will be working with the Humane Society of Macomb to help bless animals during this time of year. With the Humane Society, we are not just looking for food and treats, but also harnesses, toys, and cleaning supplies for these animals throughout the year. We will be partnering with Beautiphi Aesthetic, in The Village of Rochester Hills, to fulfill the needs of all of our families.
The only way we can make this possible is through our clients who faithfully each year grab one of multiple ornaments off of our tree. We know the holidays are tough for everyone, but any little bit makes a huge difference. Some can donate a lot, while others can simply round up their transaction on their way out our door. Every little bit of change helps us fulfill what’s left on our tree at the end of acceptance period.
How You Can Help:
Come in and grab an ornament while you are here for care
Call in and claim an ornament over the phone (248-963-1118)
Monetary donations
Round up at the end of your visit (this would be bringing your transaction to the nearest dollar)
All donations for Adopt a Family are due back the week of December 4th.
All donations are due for the Humane Society of Macomb by December 15th.
We know this sounds early, so this is why we adopt a family at the beginning of November. We do this for two reasons:
We still have to wrap all of the gifts to be able to deliver them to the families on time.
We work with schools and some of these less privileged families are less accessible once winter break begins.
